The Common Word is a weekly thirty minute radio program roundtable discussion of the Gospel Lectionary Scripture of the Week by four mainline denomination ministers in Henderson Kentucky. The show airs on Sunday mornings at 8:30am on WSON, 860AM. You also, can listen anytime by going to www.wsonradio.com and clicking on archives. It also airs each Sunday at 12:00pm, on WKWC 90.3FM.  The following ministers participate: Father Anthony Shonis, Associate Pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church; the Rev. Dr. Beth Macke, Vicar of Peace Episcopal Church in Rockport Indiana and supply to both Western Kentucky and Indiana; Pastor Freida Alexander, pastor of Belleview United Methodist Church; and Pastor John Guthrie, pastor of Henderson Presbyterian Church.  

When asked what “Common Word” meant the participants replied: Dr. Beth Macke, “A chance to relate across denominations and study the Word of God. The relationships we have built are unique and wonderful. One of the cheapest evangelism strategies ever for a non-fundamentalist, non-Pentecostal approach to the Word of God.”
