Service & Social Concerns

Social Action Committee- becomes involved in justice issues of our day.

St. Vincent de Paul Society- helps families in need in many ways. Office hours are 10 am- 4pm Monday through Friday.

Mary & Martha Outreach to the Needy- 5% of church collections funds assistance to the local community for a variety of needs.

Bereavement Support group- offers information and support to those who have lost a loved one.

Bereavement Dinner-offers a meal following funerals. Includes serving and cleaning up after the meal. People are also needed to supply a dish to be served on a monthly rotational basis.

Altar Society- This group meets monthly.  Vacuums and dust the church weekly on a monthly rotational basis, launders and irons the purificators weekly.  Host parish receptions.  Supplies altar linens, candles, wine and bread to be used at liturgy. Welcoming new members anytime.

Men's Club- organization of men who minister to the community through acts of charity.

Welcoming Committee- calls and visits new members in the Parish and serves as a liaison while the family is becoming  acquainted.

Knights of Columbus (K of C)- an international Catholic Fraternal organization which supports charitable acts both locally and internationally.

Habitat for Humanity-

Good Samaritan Society- assist with various health-related projects, such as a bi-monthly Saturday soup kitchen at the Salvation Army, medical services for the indigent, Emergency Shelter for Women and Children, support for our Parish Nurse Program and CASA. takes communion to the hospital sick on Sunday, conducts annual fund-raisers to provide financial support for these projects.  You do not have to be a healthcare provider to volunteer.

Divorced/Separated- a service provided through the Diocesan office. Provides support and fellowship for those going through a separation or who are already divorced.

Garden Club- a ministry which plans and recommends landscaping beautification of the church grounds.

Financial Peace University- A series of 13 Biblically based, life changing personal finance lessons.  Authored by Dave Ramsey.

Bus Ministry- a van is furnished by the St. Vincent de Paul drives those with no transportation to mass for Sunday Liturgy. Available at the 4:00 pm vigil on Saturday.

Coffee & Donuts- Coffee & donuts served after 9:30am mass.

Senior Citizens Group- a ministry which meets monthly.  They attend noon day mass and meet in the parish hall for pot luck and a guest speaks.

Parish Nurse- a ministry formed to educate and assist with health matters.

Fall Festival- plans the annual Fall Festival for Holy Name School.

Fiesta Committee - plans social functions for the parish.

Nursery- provides care for young children during Sunday liturgies and for special events.

Office Assistance- prepares mailings, answers phone, computer input, etc. Can be at the Parish Office.
